I have noticed that there has been very little writing about GM and Ford investing the bulk of their money to build Electric Vehicles (EVs) — cars and trucks — outside the state of Michigan.
Billions are being spent in Ohio, Ontario, Tennessee, Kentucky and Mexico. Particularly in Tennessee and Kentucky.
In terms of car manufacturing, Tennessee is the new Michigan. New Factories. New battery development plants. Ford’s ‘Blue Oval City’ is being built in Tennessee. GM and Ford are also building new office facilities in which to coordinate their operations.
Japanese and Korean car makers are also investing in these same locations.
EVs will demand 30% less labor to construct. Fossil Fuel (FF) cars, representing the past, are now being built in Michigan. Yes, EV manufacturing exists in Michigan. But what happens when the FFs are done in 2030 or 2035? Just a few years down the road!
Already, approximately over 10,000 auto jobs are gone — over the past year.
The UAW (United Auto Workers) are already getting nervous — for good reason.
First, millions of Americans have fallen into the ranks of the poor over the past two years!
Second, the average price of a new car has risen dramatically to about $45,000.
Third, global competition is brutal. And it will only get more intense. The Big Three in Detroit are no longer the only game in town. They have known this fact for years!
Fourth, thousands of auto jobs will disappear due to technology and a shrinking marketplace. How in the world will half of Americans be able to afford an EV in ten or fifteen years?
Approximately 80% of Americans live from paycheck-to-paycheck!
No one is talking about this fast-approaching economic reality. Why?
The US is increasingly dealing with a population of economic “expendables”. America already has too many college graduates working jobs they could have done right out of high school!
Ladies and gentlemen, dark and forbidding clouds are steadily forming on the horizon in the US.
When are the “elites” and the “thought leaders” (hello, George Orwell) going to informed Americans about who is essential? And who is NOT essential for this nation’s economic future??
(Perhaps, they already have, but we have decided to simply not listen!!)
Maybe, it is beyond our capacity to assimilate such harsh and irrefutable truths.
Nevertheless, that day is coming — and it is coming sooner than you think!!
